Jason Schlabach is the founder of Door of Hope and the pastor of Foothills Community Chapel in Columbus, NC. He and his wife, Fern, have five children: Landon, Heather, Reece, Destinee, and Paige. They live in Columbus, NC. Jason has the heart of a shepherd, giving oversight and direction to the many arms of this ministry. His passion is for people to be able to connect with their Heavenly Father, and to walk in the abundant life that is possible through Jesus Christ. We appreciate Jason’s servant leadership in this role, and his sensitivity to God’s purposes and divine plan for Door of Hope. The flow of ministry has not been a stagnant pool, but a river steadily flowing wherever God is leading in the counseling ministry, and in seeing people set free. Currently Jason is on an eighteen month sabbatical but continues to be in touch with the ministry.

Jim Zimmerman and his wife Lois moved to Columbus, NC in June 2010, to take on the responsibilities of Volunteer Service Ministry Director, and to assist with counseling as his schedule allows. Jim's are from Ephrata, PA and are the parents of five children and grandparents of four. We welcome them to the ministry team and look forward to how God will use their gifts and talents to further His Kingdom at DOH. As a Board and ministry team, we have no question that God brought Jim and Lois our way for such a time as this. In addition to his administration skills to give oversight to the ministry and its growth or expansion, he has a great desire to see people walk in the fullness of who God created them to be. His compassion for those in bondage to the snares of the enemy and his passion to see the body of Christ minister and function as God designed is a valuable combination for the ministry.

We believe in one God, the creator of all things, eternal, infinite, perfect, and manifested in three persons as the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (John 1:1-3; Isaiah 44:6-8; Matthew 28:19; Mark 12:29; Deut. 6:4; Isaiah 43:10).
We believe the Holy Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired Word of God, the inerrant and entire revelation of God’s will for salvation, and the Divine and final authority for the Christian faith and life (II Timothy 3:15-17).
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only Son of the Living God and became flesh through His miraculous conception by the Holy Spirit and His virgin birth (Luke 1:26-35; Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Isaiah 9:6).
We believe in His sinless life, His miraculous ministry, His substitutionary death on the cross as atonement for our sins, His bodily resurrection from the dead, and His ascension into Heaven to serve as our intercessor before the Father (John 1:14; Hebrews 7:25,26).
We believe in the New Birth, and that salvation is a free gift of God through Jesus Christ to all who will repent and believe the Gospel. We believe in salvation only through the blood of Jesus (Romans 3:23; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8; John 3:3-8; I John 1:7-9). This causes us to enter the family of God by an experience called the “New Birth” as Jesus taught in John chapter 3.
